Grant Guidelines
In the current cycle, The Escondido Charitable Foundation will focus on supporting projects that inspire and strengthen civil society in our communities; in particular, projects that foster community participation, consensus-building and collective problem solving in the field of children, youth programs; and youth education. Projects eligible for funding will be managed by nonprofit organizations or government agencies and will build and/or strengthen opportunities for Escondido youth in one or more of the following elements of a vibrant civil society:
- equity and inclusion of diverse communities in all areas of civic life;
- quality information that is freely available, commonly shared and dedicated to the needs and requirements of the local residents; or
- decision-making processes that are transparent, participatory and accountable.

Grant Making
Grants 2009-2010
The Escondido Charitable Foundation is proud to enter its third year of grant making.
In the current cycle, the Escondido Charitable Foundation will accept proposals for projects that will contribute to the improvement of Science and Mathematics education in Escondido.
More information about the topic area and specific criteria are included in the full grant guidelines. The Escondido Charitable Foundation will fund Science and Mathematics programs for school-aged (K-12) children and youth that are managed by educational, non-profit, or government organizations.
Grants 2008-2009
In 2008-2009, the Escondido Charitable Foundation accepted proposals that addressed the top issues associated with Healthy Lifestyle Choices: these include programs and activities that focus on creating and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and address many diseases and health issues.
The goal of the 2008-09 grant cycle was to encourage Healthy Lifestyle Choices that will help Escondido
become one of
"America's Healthiest Cities."

Grants 2007-2008
The Escondido Charitable Foundation has completed its first grant making. Each year the chosen grants focus are change, and in the first cycle, The Escondido Charitable Foundation accepted proposals in the fields of youth education and/or youth services.
The proposal were for projects with youth ages 0-18 years and/or in grades K through 12. Special consideration was given to projects that addressed: science, technology, literacy, mentoring, leadership and recreation.
Grants were announced at the Grant Celebration on November 29,2007.
